Pee Dee Electric plays a key role in Economic Development in the areas we serve. In 1999 Pee Dee Electric joined forces with the City of Rockingham and Richmond Economic Partnership (REP) to launch the Shell Building Program at the Rockingham-West Industrial site.

The centerpiece of the shell-building program begins with a zero interest loan from Pee Dee Electric. This loan allows for the construction of a 40 thousand square foot shell building that can be customized to meet many business needs.

Pee Dee Electric, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, believes in helping local communities grow. Attracting new industry and technology in turn creates more jobs for our fellow citizens and helps to enhance the communities in which we live.
