Awareness Committee Scholarships
Each year, several $1000 scholarships will be awarded through the Pee Dee Electric Awareness Committee. These scholarships will be awarded to students who live in the Pee Dee Electric service area. In 1999, Pee Dee Electric began the annual Pee Dee Golf Classic, which helps raise money for this scholarship. The annual golf classic has grown considerably and has greatly contributed in raising the amount of money that can be given to college bound students.

Eligibility requirements are as follows:
* Must be a high school senior whose residence receives electric service from Pee Dee Electric.
* He/she must have a recommendation from either his/her high school principal, guidance counselor, or teacher.
* He/she must have maintained a cumulative average of "B" or higher throughout grades 9,10,11,12.
* He/she must apply no later than March 31, 2008.
* He/she must take the SAT & submit scores with application.
* The college must be a two or four year accredited college.

Factors considered in granting scholarships may include: character, moral standards, past & present academics, career plans & goals, school recommendations, or extracurricular activities. After the Awareness Committee members review all applications, the $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.
