Effective January 1, 2011 Pee Dee Electric offers a $50.00 rebate for a new or replacement electric water heater when purchased and installed according to the following standards:

The water heater shall have a 40-gallon tank or greater.  The water heater must have an energy efficiency rating of 94% or better.  Pee Dee Electric recommends insulating the water heater with an insulation blanket and also insulating the hot water pipes.

The member or contractor will choose the water heater that meets Pee Dee Electric’s specifications listed above from a dealer of choice.  The member or contractor will also choose a plumbing contractor.

We encourage the member or contractor to make the dwelling as energy efficient as possible through the use of high insulation standards and energy efficient appliances, etc.  Since the water heater remains the member or contractor’s property, all service is at the member or contractor’s expense. Pee Dee makes no guarantee, expressed or implied, about the quality of the water heater or installation.

You will receive a future $50.00 credit on your Pee Dee Electric bill.

The manufacturer, not Pee Dee Electric, guarantees the water heater against defects.

A receipt for the water heater and the energy efficiency label must accompany the application when submitted for processing.

Pee Dee Electric offers a $400.00 future rebate credit for a ENERGY STAR Heat Pump Water Heater that is purchased and installed according to manufacturer specifications and applicable electrical and plumbing codes.
