Effective January 1, 2011 Pee Dee Electric offers:  $100 credit for air source heat pumps that have a SEER rating of 15-15.99, a $300 credit for air source heat pumps that have a SEER of 16 or greater, and a $500 credit for the installation of a ENERGY STAR ground source heat pump.   The new heat pump must be installed to the following standards:
	The equipment is rated by the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Institute (ARI) Guide as having a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) of 15 or higher.
	If the heat pump is obtained for the construction of a new dwelling, the dwelling must have insulation values of R-30 in the ceiling, R-17 in the outside walls & R-19 in the floor. The dwelling must have storm windows, double-paned windows or weather-stripped metal doors. If the heat pump is installed in an existing dwelling, it must meet the insulation standards listed above where possible. Call Pee Dee Electric if there are any questions regarding this section.
	The heat pump must be installed according to the manufacturer's specifications and recommendations and installed according to all applicable national, state & local codes.
	A receipt for the heat pump and the signed invoice from the contractor must accompany the application when submitted for processing.
