Awareness Committee Scholarships
Each year, several college scholarships are offered through the Pee Dee Electric Membership Corporation Awareness Committee. These scholarships are awarded to students who live in the Pee Dee Electric service area and their residence is served by Pee Dee Electric.
Applications can be obtained at your local office or school's guidance office.
Eligibility requirements are as follows:

Must be a high school senior whose residence receives electric service from Pee Dee Electric.

A recommendation from either the high school principal, guidance counselor, or teacher.

Maintained a cumulative average of "B" or higher throughout grades 9,10,11,12.

Must apply no later than March 31.

Submit the SAT and scores with application.

The college must be a two or four year accredited college.

Youth Tour - Attention: Rising Seniors
Win a Trip to Washington, D.C. --- June 15th-21st
Applications for the Rural Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. are now being accepted. All area high school rising seniors whose home is served electricity by Pee Dee Electric are eligible to compete for an all-expense paid trip to the nation's capital. Two students from within the Pee Dee service area will be selected to attend the tour.
Winners will travel by chartered bus with other EMC sponsored contestants from North Carolina to Washington, where they will tour some of the famous landmarks of the capital city. Visits to places like the Smithsonian Institute, Arlington National Cemetery, Mount Vernon, the National Zoo, the FBI Building, the U.S. Capitol Building and an exciting evening at the Kennedy Center are just a few of the tour highlights.
Youth Tour winners will also have the opportunity to meet individually with their Congressional representatives and eat in the Congressional Dining Room. The runner-up from each district will win an all-expense paid week at the Cooperative Leadership Camp held at White Lake ,NC.

Each year Pee Dee Electric offers students the opportunity to attend two renowned NC basketball camps. The scholarships are being offered to females (grades 6-8) for the Kellie Harper Basketball Camp at NC State University and males (grade 6-8) for the Roy Williams Basketball camp at the University in Chapel Hill, NC.
